Teleseminar Insider Secrets – Tip # 9 – Is There A Better Day Of The Week And Better Time Of Day To Hold Free Teleseminars Versus Fee-based Teleseminars To Help Me Increase Sales Of My Real Estate Business?
Alex, What kind of teleseminar will help me accumulate sales in my real estate business?
There are two basic styles of doing a teleseminar. First there is the interview-style teleseminar (two or more students). This is different from a lecture-style teleseminar (a single person teaching). Here’s the difference:
When there is a single person teaching, I teach through a dialogue methodology. Even if there are 100 or 1,000 students on the call, every once in a while I will go back to the crowd and say, “Okay, how are we doing so far?” I hear, “Yes!” If there are 12 students on the call, I’ll go live and say, “Did that make sense to everybody?” The answer is going to be yes, no or maybe. Even with a non-interview style, a teaching style, I don’t like to make it didactic. Didactic is what you learned in school — you listening to the teacher pontificating or monologue.
You like to dialog Alex – don’t you? Why?
Because I can get a better feel of what the people wish from the call…The dialog can be done with questions via email like we do for our Teleseminar Secrets classes, or when people come into the queue and ask questions, which is operator-assisted. That’s when there’s a single trainer involved, and that can be you. For the interview style, this is very, very appealing. Nightingale-Conant was created on the concept of audio teaching. Earl Nightingale and Dick Conant, Sr. created a multi-million dollar business. I clearly believe that the monologue style is no longer as inspiring as it used to be. In fact, I believe in the dialogue style. The dialogue style is the interview style.
The way you dialogue is as follows: The interviewer has a position, and the interviewee has a position. I believe in infotainment, which means, don’t just ask questions. Attack the interviewee. Make certain the interviewee is on his or her toes with very difficult questions. Why is Barbara Walters such a great interviewer? That is because she elicits emotion from her subjects. You can do the same thing.
Make certain people know how you’re going to interview them in advance. People are very, very acquainted with my interview style. My position as the interviewer is to take on the skepticisms, the self doubt and the questions of the listener. I’ll say stuff like, “Oh, come on, Harvey. It’s not that easy. Is it?” Harvey Mackay will respond with, “Yes it is, Alex. Here’s why.” I wish to mirror the conversation in the mind of the listener. Robert Collier, the father of direct mail, said, “The only way you can sell anything to anyone is to first understand the conversations in their mind.” That’s not just the conversation about your product. It’s the general conversation. “Wow, it’s hot in this room,” or “Wow, this teleseminar is really, really long,” or “Wow, that was a very appealing comment,” or “Wow, this an inspiring call.” You wish to mirror the conversation in their mind.
That is what the interviewer’s job is. The interviewee’s job is simply to answer questions, and to be provocative at times to make it more informative. I’m not talking about corporate entertainment. I’m just talking about entertaining and informational at the same time. Those are the differences between the teaching style of one person, the lecture style and the interview style, which is two or more people. I’ve had round tables with a dozen people where I went from one person to the next, and I’ve had individual interviews, as I often do with the ASK™ campaigns. I hope that answers the question. I hope you use at least one of those two styles within the next 30 days. Use both styles within the next 90 days. It will change your life. You have to be the one who uses them. It can’t be done for you.
It’s a style of teleseminars the two of you are very acquainted with in your work with divorced dads…
